HOW CAN I PREPARE MY DOG FOR THE PHOTOSHOOT?
We recommend a few simple steps to make the experience enjoyable for both of you! A little playtime or a walk beforehand will help them burn off energy and stay relaxed. Bring along their favourite toys or treats to keep them happy and engaged during the shoot. Don’t forget to give them a good grooming session so they look their best! Lastly, remember to stay patient and calm—your dog will feed off your energy, so a relaxed vibe will help them feel at ease.
WHAT COMMAND SHOULD MY DOG KNOW?
To make the photoshoot fun and relaxed, it’s helpful if your dog knows a few basic commands, but don’t worry—your dog doesn’t need to be perfect! Here are some commands that will help:
-
Sit – This is a great way to get your dog settled and ready for a cute shot.
-
Stay – Helps them stay in one spot and hold a nice pose.
-
Look/Watch Me – A simple way to get your dog’s attention on the camera (or you!).
-
Lie Down – Perfect for calm, relaxed poses.
-
Come – Great for guiding your dog to a specific spot when needed.
If your dog is still working on some of these, that’s okay—just focus on the ones they’re comfortable with.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH US TO THE PHOTOSHOOT?
To ensure a smooth photoshoot, bring your dog’s favorite toys or treats to keep them engaged, along with a leash and collar for safety. Don’t forget water and a bowl to keep them hydrated. If they have a favorite blanket or mat, that can help them feel more comfortable. A brush or wipes for quick grooming touch-ups and any outfits or accessories for variety are also great add.
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL DURATION OF THE PHOTOSHOOT?
The typical duration of the photoshoot can range from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the type of shoot and your dog’s energy level. For a more relaxed session with a few simple portraits, it may be closer to 45 minutes. However, if we’re doing outfit changes, more complex setups, or outdoor shots, it might take up to 2 hours.
MY DOG CAN BE MISCHIEVOUS OFF LEAD, IS THIS A PROBLEM?
It’s completely normal for dogs to be a little mischievous or playful, especially when they’re off-lead. We are very comfortable working with dogs of all personalities, and we will make sure to create a safe, controlled environment where your dog can be himself while still getting great photos.
MY DOG IS VERY ANXIOUS BUT WOULD LOVE A PHOTOSHOOT, IS THIS POSSIBLE?
We will make sure the session is as stress-free as possible. We’ll take it slow, allow plenty of breaks, and create a calm, supportive environment for your dog with lots of positive reinforcement.
